The capacity to plan, motivate, focus attention, manage multiple tasks and follow through are executive functioning skills necessary for healthy parenting. These tools are the infrastructure that enable parents to provide stable, safe, settings for their children. This presentation is an in depth exploration of executive function skills. We'l explore how executive function skills are developed, their role in parenting and what we can do to help young parents develop these skills and how service providers can support parents in developing executive function skills in their children.
