Living Adventure

Wilderness Travel

At the far reach of the Canadian tundra, the Back River tumbles through the arctic landscape. The longest, undammed wilderness river in North America presents one of the few remaining stretches of earth where people can be very truly far away. Bill and team of fellow adventures set out to paddle the river from source to sea, a feat accomplished by only a select few. This story tells of the adventure and offers an inspiring message that no matter how far away we can all find ways of building wilderness into our lives.

Everyday Wilderness

What is wilderness and why is it so special?  How can we connect to wild spaces and what do we do once we get? These questions are the starting point of an exciting exploration of a day in the wilds of our own backyards, town forests, and state parks.

Backyard Adventure

Some may think that having young children sets a limit on the range of adventures available to us. Really our own backyards over a window into a world of exploration. This presentation helps parents create opportunities for adventure in the yards, parks, and woods that surround them.

Wilderness Therapy and Adventure Based Therapy

Wilderness Therapy and Adventure-Based Counseling offer new opportunities for individuals to address mental health and substance use challenges.  Through connection to the outdoor world, clinicians can help clients explore and grow. This presentation provides an overview to the modality, teaches a framework for creating interventions, and discusses ethical, safety and legal issues around providing services in the outdoors.
